How many games on the new balls with filler ?
« on: August 08, 2008, 12:07:17 PM »
Just curious, we have all heard about the hammer/ebonite balls kicking the bucket rather quickly...  Has anyone had any issues with the new Lanemaster balls with filler ?  I have an XS Power with about 80 games on it and it is still going strong...

I just bought a sure strike and I hope for the same success.

I have no experience yet just some thoughts:

I know their "premium" resin is supposed to absorb oil slower (that must be why they hook so little. ). With their slower absorption rate and very thick coverstocks, I can understand why they lose performance more slowly than other balls (except maybe Visionary and DT's Soakers).

With the thinner, 5/8" coverstocks on balls, like the XS Power and the Sure Strike (just got one myself), I will be inclined to be sure to clean them after each use, more so than than the thicker ones. I admit to being not quite as religious in my regimen of ball cleanign with Lanemasters balls, as I am with other brands of balls.

I have a Sure Strike with over 1000 games.  Rolls like the day I bought it.  Cleaning and polishing are done about every month or so.

Longevity of the "So-Called" lesser coverstocks with the thickness of 5/8" is just as resilent as their Cover-to-Core coverstocks. I currently own a Sure Strike with hundreds of games on it with no reaction loss. I previously have owned the XS Power as well and noticed no issues. I am anticipating the same from the soon to be released "Dynamic Power"(release date of Sept. 1st) and the fall releases of the "Solid Strike" and Buzz Attack!".

Thanks for the replys and comments..  I figured as much.  I just hadn't seen the question asked yet on this forum....

A sure strike with 1000 games ?  Now that is encouraging.  I hope mine lasts that long !!

Yea, at least.  My sure strike is my go-to ball when things get out of control.  And, to be truthful, its not that snappy.  Despite what everyone says.  Smooth describes it best.
