RG on Sure Strike and Counter Strike
« on: August 28, 2007, 02:00:53 PM »
Why isn't the RG lower on both these balls if a 5/8" cover with filler?  You'd think they were going after a lower RG ball that would rev earlier rather than the  same RG as the rest of their balls.  Yes?

Splain what's going on here if you can.  Is it just a cheaper manufacturing process or another reason as far as ball dynamics?

If you want low RG go with the High Performance series, not the performance series.

What's going on here, (my best guess), is they're still using their premium resin coverstocks and those suckers are just too damned strong. You need to mate them with medium to medium-high RG to get the length needed.

With respect to the 5/8" thick coverstock, well that's just to save money and that money saved is passed on to the end user, as these balls are less expensive.

BTM's review indicates a strong hitting ball, still best used on medium oil, DESPITE the fact that it's a resin pearl and despite the fact that it has a medium-high RG core.

Lanemasters makes no wimpy balls. For any other company this would be a light oil ball. Ha!

(OK, I did get carried away just a little bit there ... Well, not really!)

Yes, I kinda of thought so Jeff.  Just wondered.

For you others that don't know me I have used many LM/L balls <still holding on to my Buzz and NS2>....just wondering what the new balls were all about after reading more on the LM site and the Sept. 07 BTM that Jeff alluded too.
