I have the choice between a Storm Domination and a Lanemasters Terminator. I wanted to know which would be the best choice looking for overall hook, longevity, and handle medium to heavy conditions.

The Terminator wins hands down on longevity, it's a huge advantage Lanemasters offer due to using coverstock all the way to the core, instead of fillers.

The terminator would be IMO, the better heavy oil ball, while the Domination would be the better medium oil ball. The Terminator was designed for heavy oil.

Overall hook, would depend on the condition, the heavier favors the terminator, the lighter favors the Domination.

To clarify, the Terminator is NOT a "pearlized particle", but a dual-load particle ball with polish in its OOB condition.
Oh ... and the STORM ball is a pearl reactive versus the Terminator.

Thanks for the advice so far I also wants to know if this was a big hook ball as the LM website says and if I should get it drilled weak or in between I am a tweener medium revs,medium to high speeds (depending on the condition). I will use this as a heavy oil ball for some tourneys this summer. So can you tell me what will be a good layout but will still give that commanding hook but not to overreact.

Right now I have a:
Hawg Zilla:medium heavy
Black Ice:medium
Smash Time Pearl:Light Medium
Target Zone: Spares

jd1319 is 100% right, IMHO.

I have thrown both. I have owned the Terminator for several months. Simply put, it is a monster. See my review if you want more information. Minimal maintenance needed. I did soak it once and very little oil came out. This confirms that LM balls absorb very little oil. One thing about the Terminator, once the midlanes start to go, put it away as it is that strong.

Concerning the Domination, a friend owns one and I can throw his stuff without any grip changes. Definately a strong pearl reactive, best used after the lanes break down and you want to open up the lane. I was impressed with this ball. For the most part, polished pearl reactives are low maintenance as they do not soak up a lot of oil; you do have to make sure it gets polished periodically to keep it close to OOB.

In general, the Domination and the Terminator are 2 different balls with 2 very different ball reactions, intended for 2 different oil amounts.

One would not, in general, consider them to perform the same task.

The Domination is a resin pearl, with an extreme skid/snap reaction intended, in general, for medium oil, at its strongest. It can handle lighter oil.

The Terminator is a solid particle, with 2 different sized particle (not Diamond, as far as I know) and intended for medium-heavy oil with slightly more length (SLIGHTLY!) than average and a strong read of the mid lane. It can probably be used for slightly less than medium-heavy oil, but unless you have high ball speed or low revs, not really useful on medium oil.

If the Terminator were sanded, it might be the strongest oiler that L/LM has. (MIGHT!)

Bragbowlin,

On 2nd thought, if you have (true) high ball speed and (true) medium revs, then few polished balls, including the Terminator, will give you a big hook on (true) heavy oil. It will, however, hook much more, with some sanding on "heavier" oil.

If you're looking for a true heavy oil ball, the Domination isn't it, it's designed to be a skid/flip monster. I have a Domination drilled for a smoother reaction, (5x3 Pin High RAD in B Position) and I can use it for a straighter line on a fresh pattern or a long pattern without any carrydown. But most of the time it's stand left and throw right, especially on a THS. There has to be some backend for this ball to work well. I haven't thrown a Terminator, so I don't know much about that ball. My goto ball for true heavy oil is a Roto Grip Epic Battle, and it doesn't disappoint.
