TERMINATOR AND BLACK DIAMOND
« on: December 11, 2009, 03:29:36 AM »
well i finally got the nerve to order the black diamond. (thanks Robb) i just took my terminator and black diamond to be plugged and re-drilled because the pitch and span were way off on both of them. I''m still new to finger tip bowl so i had no idea about the span an pitches. before i dropped them off i was averaging 204 with just the terminator (with the span and pitches being wrong). i go tonight and pick them both up. i am super stoked to see how well i can do with a ball that is actually drilled for my spec. i will do and update tomorrow and let everybody know how it works out. if anybody has any tips for a beginner please let me know

well it went good on the first night out the balls now set up for my hand. i have the black diamond drilled more for length then the terminator. first 3 games on decent oil were 198-209-220. so it wasnt to bad its amazing what these balls can do. i am a true lane masters fan and will keep getting their products.

I'll just add that it is great having both of these balls.  Between the 2, I can cover all of the lane, and most medium to heavy conditions.  I have them drilled differently with the Black Diamond getting more length then the Terminator.  The Terminator is Mr. Outside while the Black Diamond is Mr. Inside.

They both handle the lane transition great in league play.

Good luck with your balls.

Bowled Wednesday.  Purpose was to decide which balls will remain in my 4-ball roller.  I have been switching between balls for my leagues as the lane conditions are so different.  I'm having trouble in 1 house that lays down what they call their Tournament pattern for our Classic league.  They agreed to put that pattern down for a couple of friends and myself.

Started with my Terminator.  Old Reliable and darn near 100% on spares, even flattening out for a 10.  Played an outside line, as I wanted the practice on fresh oil for a 218.  The, I took out the questionable ball, the Virtual Gravity.  I have not scored well with this ball so it is on the chopping block.  162, with plenty of over/under.  The ball just didn't roll the same way twice, and this has been my second ball out in league.  It left some pretty ugly spares, as I had trouble finding a line with it.  that has been the problem.  Can't take a ball out that you don't know where to roll.

Finished with my Black Diamond, and realized what a late ball was supposed to do.  Carry down doesn't matter.  it was very consistent and reliable.  Cleared the heads, and turned really strong.  Even on one that got away, it came back with a slashing strike.  Bottom line, 299 with an extra finger on the 12th ball for a 10 pin.  Just amazing how one ball is skittish on changing oil, and the other just doesn't care.

Bottom line, VG is out and replaced by my BigRBang.  At least I know what that ball will do.

Well, took me near a half season, but I have finally settled on my ball line up for my competitive league.  I start with my Terminator from an outside line, and as I have to move inside through the match, I switch to my Black Diamond when I get to 25.

Tuesday, the Terminator started, and with transition, I moved 2 boards every couple of frames.  When I finally had trouble keeping the Terminator off of the head, I switched to my Black Diamond in the 5th frame of game 2.  Proceeded to roll 16 strikes in the next 19 balls.  What a ball change in mid game, rolling the final 8 strikes.  And, what a combo.
