The Arrow
« on: June 16, 2006, 12:29:21 AM »
Wow !!!  ... talk about low friction; this ball is harder than the original COLUMBIA Blue Dot !!! It's like "putting" on ice !!!
If you've had a problem with your spare balls grabbing too much on the backends, get this ball !!!

BTW, all that you really see is the Arrow when it's rolling ... 2 cool !!!

Is this a clear ball?  It looks blue to me but I thought I read somewhere that it was clear.

I has a clear coverstock with a blue core and the red/white LEGENDS arrow on it.

Where is the arrow in relation to the core?  Is it inside the ball?  If you can only see the arrow when it is rolling, how does that work?

Sorry for the confusion, but I haven't found a pro shop that has this one yet.

I guess that I need to clarify (and I understand how my previous thread confused you) ... the arrow is imprinted on the core, and what I meant to imply with my previous comment was that, because if the clear cover and the dark blue core, you don't seem to notice anything but the revolutions of the red/white arrow inside the ball as it goes down the lane (I didn't mean to imply that you couldn't see it until you rolled it down the lane).

Ah!  It sounds like a cool ball that could be used as a learning tool.  Like you could really analyze the difference between different rolls and whatnot.

As far as hooking less than a Blue Dot, I have never had my Blue Dot hook.  That thing goes straight even with spin.  I have seen other plastic balls hook a little though.

To answer both of you, I believe that Fred Borden had it designed as a learning tool ... the arrow rotation would indicate rotation and tilt.

I'll bet it doesn't hook as much as my EPX-T1, though.  And it probably dies in like 50 games, just like all the other L/LM balls.

"JJ",
Of course no hook at all, silly roomie !!!

"Tx",
Yes, an ultra low friction spare ball, as previously stated (see above link to the Legends web site).

I can't honestly say that I see the need for a "low friction" spare ball.  The last time I checked, plastic was low friction to begin with.  If a bowler is having problems with the marginal amount of friction that they experience with a plastic ball, it's not the ball....it's the bowler.

Hey Rob,

I'm glad you like it  When I was talking to Pat, when I was going to drill it up....he said to drill it so that when I was holding the ball the arrow was pointing straight forward....did you do that?

I'm so happy that one of my purchases is in the hands of someone who actually wanted it lol.

I kinda miss my Big Bang now
