The best LaneMaster / Legends ball?
« on: April 11, 2008, 12:10:09 AM »
Hi!

I've never tried a LaneMaster / Legends, which ball would you say is the must-have signature ball?

For example, if you asked Roto-Grip fans they'd say Cell, Lane 1/Buzzbomb, Brunswick/inferno etc...

I'm not looking to fill any gap, I just want to try one.

Thank you.

Black Pearl.  It's their signature ball, as well as the World Class Pearl Particle.

I vote for the Yeah Baby! I have two of them with one pin above and right of ring finger and one pin below ring finger! The hit is incredible as well as the control! You can't go wrong with this one! Bruce

Big Kahuna for everything or Kong for lighter mediums, yeah baby is great if you get one of the first run balls the later runs do not hook as much.

Are these answers to "what's your favorite LM/L ball" or "what's their most versatile ball??"

While I love the older Legends particle balls and have found the NS and the YB to be extremely versatile, they are getting harder and harder to find. In the meantime, given the strength of their "plain" reactive resin balls, I have found the Buzz to be extremely responsive to drillings and surface changes, depsite its low RG differential and it pearl coverstock. It acts more like medium to high RG differential ball and its pearl cover is as easy and responsive to surface changes as ANY other solid resin coverstock.

Out of 4 balls, I didn't find any to my liking, but if I was "forced" to pick one ball, it would be the original Black Pearl. I did have a couple good games with it now and then, but over all day in and day out, it was too condition specific for me with the other 3 I had a total waste of my money.

The bottom line is I simply did not match up well to this ball line, same as others don't match up to other companies ball lines at times, but from what I have seen, L/LM has an excellent product and it works great for some people.

I've found the Masterpiece to be the best one out of the bunch I have.

Good luck trying to locate one.
