Hi!
I've never tried a LaneMaster / Legends, which ball would you say is the must-have signature ball?
For example, if you asked Roto-Grip fans they'd say Cell, Lane 1/Buzzbomb, Brunswick/inferno etc...
I'm not looking to fill any gap, I just want to try one.
Thank you.
Edited for voting.

Black Pearl. It's their signature ball, as well as the World Class Pearl Particle.
-
Yeah Baby!

Third vote for Yeah Baby. Hate the name, but the ball is REAL good.
-
I vote for the Yeah Baby! I have two of them with one pin above and right of ring finger and one pin below ring finger! The hit is incredible as well as the control! You can't go wrong with this one! Bruce

Big Kahuna for everything or Kong for lighter mediums, yeah baby is great if you get one of the first run balls the later runs do not hook as much.
-
I have owned most, and I would say BLACK PEARL, hands down the best!

Are these answers to "what's your favorite LM/L ball" or "what's their most versatile ball??"

While I love the older Legends particle balls and have found the NS and the YB to be extremely versatile, they are getting harder and harder to find. In the meantime, given the strength of their "plain" reactive resin balls, I have found the Buzz to be extremely responsive to drillings and surface changes, depsite its low RG differential and it pearl coverstock. It acts more like medium to high RG differential ball and its pearl cover is as easy and responsive to surface changes as ANY other solid resin coverstock.

Out of 4 balls, I didn't find any to my liking, but if I was "forced" to pick one ball, it would be the original Black Pearl. I did have a couple good games with it now and then, but over all day in and day out, it was too condition specific for me with the other 3 I had a total waste of my money.
The bottom line is I simply did not match up well to this ball line, same as others don't match up to other companies ball lines at times, but from what I have seen, L/LM has an excellent product and it works great for some people.

I've found the Masterpiece to be the best one out of the bunch I have.

Black Pearl, hands down!
But I'm really falling in love with my Hornet!

You can't go wrong w/any of them -- as long as you match the ball to what you normally play on. (Terminator on very dry, Buzz or Hornet on heavy oil, etc.)
In my oh so humble (but always correct) opinion -- I think that the Black Pearl can be the most versatile of the current LM line. All of them can take to surface adjustments really well -- but I've seen the BP in fresh soup as well as 3rd shift beatdown lanes, and if you just touch it up a little, it'll rock every time.
I can't say right now about a Yeah Baby, because I just bought one from Just Joe, and haven't drilled it up yet. But if it makes as big of an impression as the voting suggests -- and if you can find one (another challenge), then I'm sure you'll be involking the name every time you roll it.

sure strike is the best/most under rated ball period.

The World Class particle Pearl???
The only World Class pearl is the particle pearl. The Gold/Burl colored one is a polished solid.

Couldn't help noticing that in the update of the running total, my vote for the Terminator isn't included...
Done!
Also updated stats.

I'm a THS hack and a ball junkie.
-
My favorites for different conditions are:
Heavy oil - New Standard 2
Medium-heavy - Terminator
Medium oil - Big Kahuna
Meduim-light - Satisfaxion
I haven't tried a L/LM ball for lighter oil, but I hear the Hornet is pretty solid.
All in all, I'd have to say my favorite was the New Standard 2, though I still have a NIB Yeah Baby and Sure Strike to drill up.

At the 1000 surface prep level, does the World Class Particle Pearl, Black Pearl, Terminator, Sting, and Yea Baby all handle the same amount of oil, just with different looks on the lane?
-
One more vote for "The Buzz"
-
yeah baby I have 2
