I concur; with the proper "matched up to your stats and style" layout, the Absolute Power is sweet and crunches the pocket !!!
The Masterpiece is another hard-hitter; its core revs early and can be a bit "skid-flippy", but be aware that the coverstocks on these "L/L" balls really take well to adjustments to "tweak" the overall reaction, as well as the use of a properly placed balance hole.
The new BUZZ is a pearl reactive and has a place in an "L/L" arsenal too ... it's better for opening up the lanes after the pattern breaks down a bit; the cover gets it through clean to the breakpoint and has some serious backend recovery.
I know that you stated that you don't really care for particle covers ... however, give some thought to the KONG; it was originally thought to be a medium to medium-heavy oil ball, BUT many of us have found it to be a GREAT medium to medium-light ball. These beast absolutely ROCKS !!! It "goes long and comes back strong" ... just turns and ROARS through the pindeck.
Check out the links below for more info on both lines of equipment, and keep "us" posted on your progress.
