Will be able to make an informed opinion in a couple of weeks.  The terminator for me was a very strong ball that I had to keep polished.  The TR is sitting here waiting for me to get it drilled, but it will have the same drilling on it as the original terminator so I can tell side by side what the differences are.
The Gathering 2014 is near.  July 25-27 in Winston Salem, NC @ Creekside lanes.

I had a Big-R-Bang, which has the same coverstock as the TR, only it comes polished instead of 800-grit sanded.  The core is very similar, too, I believe.  At 800-grit, for me, the TR would probably work pretty well but if you polish it up like the BRB, it might be too oil-sensitive.  Mine had too much length, it was a very clean, angular cover for me.

But the core of the TR is different from the Big-R-Bang's with more flare. Plus it would depend on how you polished it. The BRB had a very high gloss polish and its core shape gave it a more flippy ball reaction.

They're very similar shapes, though.  I know that's far from the whole story, though.  The cover is still most of the reaction and I'm not sure how well I matched up to it.  Coulda been the layout, too, so there's a lot of ways I could have tried harder to make it work.

Because of that huge length, I was always afraid to even think of one. But then with my 2 Buzz's, I covered everything up to my New Standard & Big Kahuna.

Ok, the unofficial review of the Terminator Rebellion:

Length, length, length.  Same shape move as the original terminator, but very speed sensative.  Drilled two of these -- one stacked leverage, the other a modified Rico (pin 1 1/2" above center grip due to me being a high track player).  Tried them out at Creekside (where the Gathering is going to be held next week) on their normal house shot.  I'll talk about the one that is like my original terminator (modified Rico), but what holds true for one holds true for both.

If these are in the hands of someone who is either speed/revs balanced, or rev dominant -- they will play better OOB than someone who (like me) is more speed dominant.  Do not be suprised if you have to knock the stock surface down to get some extra grip.

I started playing over the second arrow out to about 4/5 at the breakpoint, and as long as I stayed at about 14.7 to 15.2 mph, I'd put it in the pocket.  Any faster and I'd discover the joys of trying to pick up a 1/2/10 or 1/2/4/8 leave.  When I decided to play over the 6 at the arrows and 3 at the breakpoint and come up the back more, it played better -- could get up to 15.6 before missing the headpin.

This ball could be a good/great Cheetah ball when you have enough dry to make it work, but I feel this is a great 'training' ball -- meaning training the bowler to be a control bowler, because you have a very narrow 'happy zone' where it loves to be in.  Tiptoe out of the zone, and you'll either have stone 9's, flat or ringing 10's, or a 6 or 7 count.  But if you're used to a ball that you can really turn loose with -- the TR isn't the ball for you.

Does it have the same move that the original Terminator had/has?  Yes, but sometimes I wished I had another foot or two of lane to have it develop.  I didn't have my scotchbrite or Abralon pad in the bag to dull it down, will try that this week and append to this post.

A great 1-2 punch w/the original Terminator?  Yes, but to really work in an arsenal, there will probably need to be a fill ball to go between these two -- unless you have a 4 ball arsenal where there's 2 Terminators and 2 TR's.

And that's all for right now.

I have a Terminator Rebellion and will admit that it's going to sit.
It's supposed to be control ball, but it has length, medium flare and a mellow backend.

The XS Power is real deal of a control ball.  Early rolling, high flaring and consistent off the break.

Once the lanes have opened up the Black Pearl Reactive will take you home!

My Team combo or scaled down arsenal for winter leagues:

XS Power Solid Reactive   RG: 2.525 Diff: .055 6" flare
Black Pearl Reactive      RG: 2.559 Diff: .055 6.5" flare

thanks folks....

I am so far not keen about the T-R but the T is interesting though I fear it might be too close to my Machine.

Well... till winter I will save up some money for bowling and maybe get me ball... maybe. Shoes seem to get more important right now.

But thanks a lot for the infos! I appreciate it!

See this why you should never buy a ball from the reviews from this site, my TR is a flipping backend beast bought it used from friend that got it off another BR user.

Ball is stacked probably in the 3 inch pin to pap range, has medium length and makes a very defined move in the mid to the pocket. Has pretty good carry and need's to played with a firm release but I tend to hit the crap out of the ball on the bottom.

Funny thing is the reviews the other BR member posted was not good that it did not hit great and hook alot.

and there we go again... different style different bowler... different pattern...different layout.

But thanks folks.

I am right now getting a hang on my Carbide+ and the ball seems to start working for me Smooth to the max... I would love it to be stronger (Terminator would have been a better choice I guess) but well... winter and I can maybe afford another ball... and then it will be either the T or the "Granite" Oger (particle, too)

But the Rebellion is not an option any more as my Machine is working so darn well... I see no point getting another ball for med lanes.
