Ultimate Power questions
« on: December 23, 2010, 11:24:31 PM »
While I have seen statements like,
"The UP can't handle carry down",
I have not yet seen any analysis or discussion of breakpoint shape or length or how much oil it can handle. I did see one guy say it handles medium oil. I wonder about that ONLY because of some implications I have seen in others' discussions of this ball.

So I still wonder,

A. in the grand scheme of Lanemasters/Legends Standard balls, where does this ball fit?
* between the Buzz, one of their great medium-light to medium oil balls, and the Hornet, their standard light oil ball??
* is it stronger than the Buzz and closer to the Buzz Attack?
* is it between the Buzz and the Sting?

B. Every picture I've seen so far shows filler, yet Shaggy just told me, out of the clear blue, that it has no filler. It's like the Buzz, just core and thivk shell? I didn't know that.

C. For the average ball speed, average revs guy, where does this ball fit and what does it do?

I am asking because, as of yet, I have seen no professional reviews in BJI or BTM and I have not yet gotten a clear picture of this ball from the discussions held so far.

Thanks, as always.

Jeff,

In a current Ball Comparison Chart I have, it shows the Ultimate Power to fit in between the Solid Strike and the Hornet with Volume of Oil handling a touch more than the SS and Hornet, Shot Shape is almost spot on compared to the SS and a little less angular than the Hornet, Length is again comparable to the SS and earlier than the Hornet and for Total Hook it again is very comparable to the SS and obviosuly more than the Hornet.

The ball is a traditional Lane Masters ball being of 2-Piece construction.

If you would like copies of the current PDF info I have, PM me with your e-mail address and I will gladly send them to you.

Happy Holidays,
