Extreme Impact Strange
« on: January 07, 2010, 02:01:30 AM »
Hi at all
i bought on ebay a Lanemasters Extreme impact nib, and today i receive the ball but when i open the package i see a surprise
There isn't the cg on the ball (it's not marked on the surface)
and the series number report Series #1
Can it be a test Ball?
or something strange???
this is the link of the auction :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330384812719&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I will post later a couple of photos of the ball received because the photo with the Flag is different from the ball received (on the ball there is marked above the flag MADE IN THE )

Any info is appreciated, thanks in advance.

First of all great find. The Cg on the ball should be in the in between the Lanemasters logo and the serial number. The "made in the" is supposed to be there.

On this series of balls, the Flag is the "USA" part of the Made in the USA.

I know I would not drill this ball. Consider it a collector, might be worth some money one day.

Oops, Most definitely, NOT a collector's item.

Mine has the exact same markings. As Joe Jr. said, the real serial number is under the CG marker, which, in turn is under the words, "Lane Masters".
Mine has "ABC #1797". Sigh .... Everyone thinks they've got a special ball.

Check for the CG marker, a specified on the box as XX" under the pin.

I think this was the very first series of Lane Masters bowling balls, therefore, undrilled it might have more value than if it was drilled. I wasn't implying that this particular ball was special because of whatever markings it might have.

Not to mention, who really decides what is a collectors item and what isn't? Your trash might be another persons treasure. For proof, go to any flea market. LOL

The serial # on that ball is ABC# 1128! I was bidding on it and didn''t want to pay that much for the ball! It sold for $75.06 plus $25 shipping, I still have the pictures from the ebay listing and found the serial number! It does have a cg, it''s the funny looking G above the serial #!

when i partecipate to this auction the same seller did another auction with another Lanemasters Extreme Impact nib 15lb.
I repeat the only number on my ball is series#1, and i'm agree with charlest that the serial number is under the cg marker because i had a lanemasters Extreme impact before this and the serial number was impressed under the cg, also that ball had the logos yellow, and this one have no color into the logo.

Then that might very well be a test ball, sent to pro shops or selected staffers to test.

The only way you can be sure is to contact Lane Masters themselves.

FYI I believe under their current rules, a ball must have a serial number. The only real concern is to qualify for an award it must have a serial number. Technically it''s illegal to use, btu I doubt if anyone would call you on that.

The G with the C around it in your first picture is the cg.  The serial is below it indicating that it is not one of the normal serialized balls.

I don''t believe so. Mine has a "normal" (as far as I know) serial number and mine has the "G" inside a "C". Look in the 5th picture in his album. Where my serial number is, this one has the logo, "9ABC#DISPLAY", as if it were manufactured for DISPLAY purposes only by the ABC.
