WCR layout
« on: April 12, 2010, 06:48:45 PM »
Finally got my WCR.
Which layout would be good for long and strong. To use when NS is too strong/early and Hornet too weak? When lines are getting too dry in the middle.
PIN 5" from PAP and CG stacked?

My pap is ~5 1/2 and 1 1/2 up (rev ~400-500, 19mph)
NS is drilled PIN in the ring and cg stacked.

Well since we both seem to have similar styles, I am almost 6 over 1/2 up these days, with about 375 revs. I have been getting my best reactions with pins atleast 1 inch above finers in the 5 1/2 from PAP distances. With my high track and heavy roll they push down the lane alot better. That can cause some snap in some equipment downlane that is quite aggressive, but i use surface to mellow it out.

Keep it around 5 1/2 and I think you will get what you want

My driller says, that 5 1/2 from PAP can be too weak for deep playing and advice for about 4 from PAP with CG stacked.
He's not familiar with L/LM balls. And does CG play so important role for drilling?

4 inch pins to PAP for me have a tendency to be to strong, flaring to much at times, causing tomuch early burn and sacrificing carry.

Inside lines many will say are for equipment with weaker pin up drillings. All I know is they work very well for me. 5 1/2 pin to PAP with your revs on a core that has a nice fare potential still flares quite abit, and you can always add a weight hole yto increase flare if needed.

As far as CG goes some will say it is absolutly nothing to worry about, others will ay it does matter. My opinon is it doesn't matter at all on a strong mass bias assymetrical ball, but I find it plays a important roll in symmetrical balls.
