Title: What can I expect from the NS2?
Post by: DP3 on September 19, 2006, 03:31:15 AM
I was just given one of these with low low games on it.  What can I expect from it as a true oiler?  I'm generally asking for a comparion of what else on the market is similar so I have an idea of if I want to keep this strong layout it already has or not.

Being that Lanemasters and Legends usually has medium RG cores.. its a good idea to drill em strong, for that great recovery and power.  Keep it strong

Its a strong arcing ball that hooks well on medium heavy, with an early roll. so play inside with it on fresh or heavier volumes of oil.

and no its not a true oiler

Balls for this winter season:

Terminator - Stacked - Heavy oil
Big Bang - Stacked - Medium to Heavy oil
Buzz - 1:30 Label - Medium to light
XXXL - Stacked -  Spare ball

As far as I know, it is NOT, and was not intended to be a true oiler. It was designed, AFAIK, to be a maximum control ball on medium and medium long oil patterns. It is not, relatively speaking, a big hooking ball, although it is supposed to have a heavy load of particles.

I don't know of anything else on the market, except maybe, just maybe the EPic Battle, which actually handles a bit more oil, but is also very much a control ball.

Alvin,
The NS2 comes OOB with a "sheen" finish; are you saying OOB is best, OR did he change the grit and apply Legends Factory Finish polish or their Extended Length polish ???

I had an NS2.  Good ball for heavier medium to lite heavy with longer length.  Kept mine in sheen condition 800 grit.  pin in ring finger 4 1/2" pin to PAP 75 deg. layout out w/ X hole 1" below my PAP.  This kind of layout works well for me.  Just had a Radar laid out this way......pin below ring.

Good control ball for this kind of sport condition.  I do like my Alter Ego better but it's very close.  Heavier condition I use a Midnight Scorcher.  Intend on trying an Epic Battle sometime this year.....set up for medium heavier longish sport condition.
