I don't know how many of you take a look at the forums on the Legends site but Bill Hoffman posted this reply to a question that I thought would be good information for everyone:
Question from Forum:
Can anyone compare this ball to the Yeah Baby? I used the YB all last year and bowled 15+ 279's in league play. The only issue, when the backends were slick, it slid bye. I need something that has the pin reaction of the YB and hooks, when there's a lot of carry down and somewhat, no backends.
Which ball would be better suited for me, the Big Bang or the World Classic?
I really need to know, the Big Bang goes longer down the lane, then it has a big backend, what does the World Classic do in comparision?
Let me know, if anyone has an opinion?
Good bowling to all!
Bill Hoffman's response:
Great question... I think I can help.
The Yeah Baby! is one of the best bowling balls I've ever thrown. I think it is comparable to the Big Bang. Since the Big Bang has a slightly lower differential, it will go a little further down the lane and hook more in the backend than the Yeah Baby! I also think the Big Bang hooks a few more boards overall than the Yeah Baby!, especially if you have more axis tilt or have a medium to high rev. rate.
The World Class is more for a person looking for a smooth breakpoint, especially on a fresh condition. This ball hooks less than the Yeah Baby! for me, but its partially because it flares less as well. If I were to put the same drilling in a World Class and Yeah Baby!, the World Class flares 3 inches for while the Yeah Baby! will flare 6 inches...the Big Bang is in between these two balls when it comes to flare potential.
I think you should drill a Big Bang based on the information you've provided. You could drill it the same or slightly stronger than your Yeah Baby!. Remember, if you drill the ball too weak and it doesn't flare enough, it will be more sensitive to carrydown.
Best of luck!
