World Class Part/Pearl vs. Shift
« on: December 23, 2008, 07:34:21 AM »
Hello.  I am a big fan of the Storm Shift.  I believe it will be discontinued soon if it hasn't already.  I know I can still get one here & there, but I was looking at what is out there in the current market now that comes close.  Storm doesn't seem to make the particle pearls anymore & there isn't a hybrid w/the shape lock or Shape Lock HD core in it.  Has anyone thrown both of these balls?  If so, how do they compare?  Thanks!!

I've thrown both and OOB condition they aren't similar at all, but I was throwing them at different houses and on different surfaces.  I throw the WCPP on synthetic and it's smooth, has a slight arcing hook, and finishes pretty good.  I threw the Shift only on wood and it was a good bit stronger, much more angular, and tended to finish very well (much more likely to leave a stone 8 or 9 with the Shift).  Overall both great balls, but I am throwing much more consistent scores with my WCPP than I ever did with my Shift (which could be attributed to a variety of things besides the balls).

to me, the Shift makes a little more of a snap move on the backend, where as the World Class Part/Pearl has a defined arc shape. both get decent length and are great balls

Thanks guys so far!!  That's what I'm looking for.  Or maybe anyone knows of a closer match...

Shift SLT is a hybrid if you hunt one down, had one and it hooked alot for me and then cracked in half. Storm treated me first class and sent me Gravity shift to replace it, Gravity Shift dulled down would be another choice.

Yeah, I know I can still get the Shift & have seen them at etailers at premiums & on Ebay, but was wondering what else that's out there that's close.  The WCPP was the only thing I've found close so far.
