Changing Black Pearl Coverstock Surface
« on: January 07, 2008, 03:51:20 AM »
I'm seeking information on coverstock changes to the Black Pearl that some of you BP owners have/might have made. I think the ball comes 800 grit sanded (Gray Pad) and polished.

I am considering sanding mine to 2000 Grit Abralon and no polish, but would like to see what others have done to theirs with successful results before I do this.

I changed the surface on mine to 2000 Abralon/no polish, and it was way too strong and early for the medium conditions I play on.  IMHO this take away a lot of the versatility of the ball.  I was only able to use it about a game b4 it became inconsistent.  Hope this helps!
