Xtreme Damage initial impressions
« on: February 11, 2010, 11:13:17 PM »
Picked this gem up the other night from the pro shop. Had it drilled 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 pin 1 inch above fingers, as me an Tony Martin discussed the day prior. With the way I am tracking right nowm it is more like 5 1/2+ pin to PAP, but the layout is based on my PAP of 5 3/4 by 1/2 up.

Ball was in OOb condition which is exactly as described, polish with white pad over top., kinda duller but not quite. Was bowling on fresh league shot, which is true medium oil with clean backends. First off i want to say this balll is everything people on here has talked about. This thing for one even dull is very strong on the backend, it also has a very prnounced roll i the midlane, to my eyes this is for me a true arc flip reaction. I could have definitly went with something weaker but wanted to try it out. I was 20 out to 12 and this thing was money, I had room right which the ball would scream back high flush, and also had room in the middle which can cause trouble for some pearl equipment, this motored right through it. Started the night with 2 spares then sheet for 278, Very good start for fresh off the press. By the middle of the second game the ball was to much for me by then, some polisha nd i feel would be a ball I could use all night at that house.

The pin action of this thing is what had me and some fellow bowlers on our pair very impressed, it would demolish the pocket sending alot of messengers, especially if i went hihg, it seemed to trip or throw a pin or two at anything that was left standing, all i can say is this ball carry in unreal and had a fellow good bowler in my area interested in what i was throwing. He is in the market for a new ball, i told him to look at LM site and see what he likes, I hope he makes the dive.

So far the ball looks to be a real winner, the roll to me rolls very similar to my Big Kahuna whihc has a pin in ring double thumb layout, yet the Xtreme is stronger in the back end and handles oil better (still love the Kahuna though), but the motion looks very similar, any fans of he Kahuna this might be your answer.

One thing I want to note with this ball. 1 being the way it flares for me, although right now with my current track it is a weaker drill, but this thing flares 4.5 inches, the way it flares is what si unique. Mine flares tight rings about 2 inches through the oil, past the oil lines it flares anouther 2-3 inches of flare rings that are more seperated in distance. I have seen this before but not as pronounced, it is like once it leaves the oil it revs up hard and turns direction very hard and sharp. It is a pretty motion to watch.

2nd, mine smells like bananas or pina colada or something of that nature, pretty strong odor as well, similar to a storm ball. I have had this before, with a Terminator i had a few years ago, that ball also smelled very srong of a banana/coconut smell. Anyone else experience this, I really like it. Got in my car last night after eating, which was about 30 minutes, and the smell hit me in the nose.

Thanks again to Tony for the help, looks like a sure winner and big seller for Lane Masters. Will update as more games is put on it.
