Picked Up My Off The Chain
« on: June 15, 2013, 07:21:44 AM »

I picked up this latest release from Lord Field and I have to say out of any ball i have owned this one is the most versatile. When the lanes break down I am able to drift left and swing the ball and still have it recover with force and when there is oil the ball still comes back which is a big plus.I recommend this ball for anyone looking for a ball that can play on multiple conditions.

I hope non Lord Field bowlers get a chance to try this ball, it is definitely nothing to sneeze at.   This ball is something special, and I'm not saying this just as a staffer.

I bowled a tournament this weekend on the USBC White Pattern #2 in a very high friction house. Lanes broke down very quickly and my best look came in game 3 with the Off the Chain ball playing 23 @ the arrows to 8. Threw 6 of the last 7 when I switched to this ball. Still very new but I keep getting surprised by this ball.

It is very nice to finally see a Lord Field ball released in America that has huge backend potential. Stand left, throw right, strike, repeat....I love this ball so far!

I finally got a chance to put a few games on my OTC. Had a fairly clean THS with a decent volume of oil and got to compare directly to my Judgement with the same layout. Compared to the standard league shot, this seemed to be 2-3 feet shorter and the backends were a touch cleaner. On this specific pattern, I was surprised at how much area the OTC created. I was able to keep the ball inside 10, hold the oil and still have enough on the back to kick out the corners or open the lane up without bleeding too much energy to make the turn downlane and still carry the corner. With my high track and low axis tilt, it's rare that I've come accross a ball that lets me open the lane up this much, strictly due to my release. I would compare the reaction to my 508a on steroids (NOTE: I have not thrown these two side by side yet, but will do so before posting a full review) with similar length (508a being a touch longer but also with a slightly longer Pin to PAP) and backend motion. I see the OTC being a step down from the judgement on longer patterns (pushed a good 2-3 feet longer) and an excellent option for momving inside the track area on shorter patterns where the Judgement's higher particle load burns too much energy to make the corner.

Overall I'm very impressed with this ball and forsee it being a staple along with Judgement for the fall.

I have to say we finally have a ball that is clean through the front and recovers hard down lane. This is what we have been waiting for to add to our line. The Off The Chain fits perfectly under the Big Hurt. My line up consist of the Korrupt, Big Hurt, Off The Chain and Exodus Pearl. Each of these balls are all two to three feet different.

I agree with Monster Stitch. Out of all of the balls in the current line, this ball is will clear the front with ease and provide you with continuation through the back without losing energy. Don't be afraid of our particle coverstocks, Tony Martin has formulated particle coverstock formulations for each ball that aren't made to quit on you!
