Looking for some help
« on: September 27, 2013, 03:53:30 PM »
Hello,
I just recently signed a staff contact with lord field, and was looking for some advice on what balls in the arsenal work well? I Have pre ordered the Bad news, just looking for some other pieces to round out my bag. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard!! I just recently signed as well. I have 6 balls at the moment and 4 on the way. I have listed below.

Judgement: Very smooth, very predictable I have it with pin up about a 5" pin for me Cg about 6" don't have dual angle yet. My pap is 4 15/16 and a 1/8 up, ball speed 15-16 at cameras and 400 rev rate average.

Red Diamond/Lane Masters: This ball is just plan sick! great ball for when they break down. I have pin under fingers about 5" pin and cg kicked out. This ball is special real smooth but strong.

Torment:THis ball is really nice as well, great all around piece. I have mine drilled stacked, and with the weak cover/core it can be used on a lot of different patterns from Med to broke down pattern , out of box will struggle on dry, but add some polish and it does a lot better.

Perfect/Lane Masters:  A really nice piece also, have a 4.5" pin very smooth ball. Have not used on any thing but broken down patterns so far, so I cant speak for fresh but its great on broken down, move left and wheel away!!

Kurrupt: Have only thrown 5 balls but like what I see, strong and controlled.

Burning Up: Urethane. This ball is nice, dry lanes specialty.

On the way: Bad News, Big Bang SE/Lane Masters, spare ball and Exodus Pearl, Ram and a few others spoke very highly of the Exodus pearl.

THis was a quick help-to, I hope you get something from this.

The progression from oily to dry with the Big Hurt, Judgement, and Off The Chain has worked well for me. For me, the Big Hurt crosses a few more boards than the Judgement. They're both strong off the spot, but for me the Big Hurt is more continuous. The Judgement is also strong off the spot, but its not as continuous for me. BUT, the layouts are different... The Big Hurt is close to stacked, the Judgement is pin-down/cg-out.

When they break down, I pull out my pin-up/cg-out Off The Chain, and it has done great on medium to medium-dry.

SO, I know that that doesn't really answer your question, but I hope it helps a little. I have the Bad News and Big Bang SE on the way. I'm a higher speed, high rev-rate guy though... so adjust these comments accordingly.

Welcome to the team!

Without knowing exactly how the Bad News is going to fit in with the rest of the lineup, I would have to recommend the Big Hurt and Judgement. For me they're a great 1-2 punch on medium to medium heavy lanes that have some oil up front.

The Judgement is a pretty versatile ball that has a great read off the spot and is truely a benchmark type of ball. It will give you a good idea of what the lanes are doing BUT it does need some oil in the heads and mids. The Bad News is, for me, essentially the Judgement on steroids. It's a bit earlier and stronger in the mid lane and still turns hard on the backends even with the relatively high particle load.

I drilled the Judgement pin up and the BH pin down, and that seems to provide just enough difference in the OOB condition to make them a great combination. I think a pin up BH would be a lot of fun to throw. Also can't say enough about the Korrupt for the heavier oil. The ball is a beast in the mid lanes and carries exceptionally well.

Best of luck and do keep us updated on what you go with and what you're seeing from the equipment in comparison to what you were throwing previously.

Thanks guys looking forward to punching out the "bad News" my first release from the family. I currently am bowling tow leagues one is a modified house shot and the second is on beaten path. I should also let you guys know I do come around the ball a good amt. I am working on changing my release, but at the moment I would classify myself as a spinner. Currently I am throwing a combination of the Storm Iq solid, Track 607A and misfit on beaten path, and  mainly the iq solid on the modified house shot.  I have seen a few guys throw the judgment on beaten path and it seems very smooth. Like what I am seeing from the brand already. Cant wait to punch out some more pieces in the line. Thanks again for the advice.
