Does any non-staff members want to share there experiences with the equipment? I have yet to see a post in any forum from non-staffers.
Great point. Would be nice to see some unbiased reviews of Lord Field equipment.
Cornerpin, I understand your concern but do recall the other thread where the perks of being on staff are questioned. It is true that I am on staff and enjoy it thoroughly, but if the product was suspect, it's not as if myself or other staffers would be walking away from a lucrative contract where we are getting free or close to free equipment. The fact that myself and other staffers are willing to pay for the equipment should at the very least somewhat speak to the quality.
It would be difficult to turn down free equipment regardless of quality for a number of reasons that various people may feel are 'important', inexpensive to try new layouts/surface preps, ability to have the latest and greatest constantly, etc. This is not the case with Lord Field yet I am still enthusiastic about spreading the word and getting the name out there.
The one major point I will give you is that there are a lot of reviews that are extremely general ie. "controls the midlane well and carries everything!". This doesn't tell myself or anyone else anything about the actual ball. At this stage, I feel there needs to be more comparisons to equipment that is more readily available so that someone who hasn't seen or had a chance to try a LF ball can easily compare it to what they're seeing in their house. For example if I was to say that if my 508a oob is going a touch too long I'm able to switch to the judgement which provides an earlier read with a more arcing backend and is a natural progression to a stronger ball on heavier or longer oil, this would likely give you a better idea of where the ball would fit into your arsenal.
At this point I have only 2 games on my Korrupt, so i won't provide any feedback on that just yet, but as far as the judgement goes. The largest sticking point to me is that once this ball turns the corner it drives extremely hard and straight through the deck. I AM NOT equating this to 'it carries everything.' But for someone with stroker/tweener revs and low axis tilt, I find myself leaving more 8 pins with this ball than anything else I've ever thrown. The ball allows me to stay in the pocket on tougher shots where it's less of a carry contest and more about managing the pocket, timely strikes and leaving makeable spares.
