$100,000 league payout
« on: May 02, 2013, 01:19:56 AM »
Banquet and payoff tonight. The actual total was $112,600 or so. Just curious to see how many people are seeing this size of a fund around the country.

It is a great league and it is nice that it is an invitational and there is a 57 game stretch out, 10 pin drop rule, and a rule that allows for rerates if deemed necessary. Keeps the baggers in check to some degree.

You can read about the last couple weeks of the playoffs on my Great 8 section of my website and there is a link to the League Secretary statistics there as well. I will be writing a final league recap with some more details. Good talent mixed with an easy shot led to 69 - 300's this season and 34 - 800's. More on that later this week.

Check it out and give us some feedback. Thanks.

I think we were about 60% of that. 28 5 man teams
Best payout in our area.

Man that's awesome . . our payout was like 26k this year, and that was off the planet great for us.  Lol where do you live again?
What would you be if you were attached to another object by an inclined plane, wrapped helically around an axis?

A league that I am on the payout will roughly be 116,500. It is 60 5 man teams. A few years ago there was a 2-3 year waiting list to get into the league, this year they were looking for a couple bowlers to fill up the leage. Will see how it goes from here

Nice payout. Does the league have a Corporate Sponsor?

No, no corporate sponsor. Now the center kicks in $10,000 and the owners get their money from other companies but to me that money is no different than just reducing lineage.

I have never seen a difference. They could drop lineage $.50 a game and that would put more in the fund than their donation. But wither way I appreciate it.

There is a bracket style playoff in groups of 8.....hence the name Great 8 Invitational. Used to be only the top 8 made the playoffs....now every tier of 8 have their own bracket. $10,000 goes to the overall points winner. $1475 was payout for 36th place. Brackets run bonus money as follows.

Top 8
1st $5000
2nd $2500

Second 8
1st $2500
2nd $1500

Third 8
1st $1500
2nd $750

Fourth 8
1st $750
2nd $500

Bottom 4 teams bowl for $500 bonus. So....you could finish dead last, win your bracket, and make $1975 for the team...almost $400 a man. $875 is the total paid into the envelope so this is pretty nice that you can make almost half your money back in last place.

We finished 12th the last two years. Last year we won the bracket and made $5000. This year we got bounced early and made $2600 for 12th.
