First 15 feet
« on: August 18, 2016, 06:07:09 PM »
I was watching Sean Rash's live stream on Facebook from a few weeks ago and he was talking about how he just wants to control the first 15 feet of the lane and the ball will just do the rest on its own. And he said he could feel the ball starting to hook in the first 15 feet so he was bumping his feet a little left. I don't really understand this. How can you "control the first 15 feet" of the lane, and just as important, what does it mean to do that? And how can a person feel a ball starting to hook that early?

My guess is that his eyes are picking up his ball path at around the arrows or splice area.  Now if the ball is consistently going left of his target there on what he considers a well thrown shot - that probably means to him that the heads are breaking down in that area and needs to move out of it.   Usually a move left into fresher oil, but not always.
