1 Ball Only, but.......
« on: July 01, 2003, 06:37:36 PM »
1 ball arsenal, however, you can have 3 of the same ball, choose your drillings and cover preps to cover the most conditions you see!

I thought this would be fun.

Obviously this does not include spare balls....

I'll start:

Ball:Roto Grip Silver Streak Solid (box condition is 1500 polished)
Drilling 1: 3x1 600 sheen (heavier)
Drilling 2: 4x5 Box (mediums)
Drilling 3: 5.5x3 wet sanded 600-800-100-1200-2000 then polished to 2500 (lighter)

Your turn!

If only allowed one, it would be the Eraser. The one I have with the pin over the bridge and cg towards PAP by 1", one with a 12:00 drill probably pin under ring finger and one with a 1:30 drill pin at 4" from PAP. I could adjust the surface based on volume of oil.

Since Storm has now dropped the Eraser, I would do the same with the new Particle Pearl. That is a great ball, but stronger than the original due to the coverstock.

1 ball arsenal,......hmmmmm

Ball: Demo Zone

Drill 1: 4x6 Box condition for heavy oil(or a little scuffed)
Drill 2: 4x2 1500 for mediums
Drill 3: 5.5x 3 2000 for everything else

This would be an interesting experiment. Especially for me since I tend to think I bowl backwards as compared to most. For example, I scuff my balls to take out the corners usually !? Make sense? Works for me.

hmmmm, let me see

Leagues:

Visionary Warlock DC Tour
1.  12:00 stacked pin between fingers polished 1200
2.  Stacked leverage hit once with green scotchpad, and smaother in elixir.
3.  4x4 take down to 600 then hit with elixir

Tournament:

Visionary Executioner
1.  Label leverage hit with green scotchpad, and smothered with elixir.
2.  Stacked leverage polished to 1200.
3.  Label leverage (or possibly 4x4) sanded down to 320 then hit with elixir.

If I can only do one total it would be the excecutioner.

Let me give this a shot.

Monster Smashr

1) 16# pin right and below, 3 3/8 -pap with x-hole to increase flare.
2) 16# pin right and above, 4 1/2 -pap, 3-5 1/2 pin out
3) 15# pin above, 5 3/4 to pap, x-hole, polished

I love my smashr.

With what I currently have, I would have a Track Thrash drilled 3 different ways.

#1 3 3/8x3 3/8, dull the surface down to about 600.

#2 4 1/2x4 1/2, with the ball in factory surface condition

#3 5 3/4x5 3/4 and just coat the neo tac Controll it on the ball.

With those drilling and surfaces  you would cover alot of the lane conditions you would see. The #3 pattern and surface will work on most of the drier conditions, but would probably still have a problem when the lanes are completely fried.

Hmm, that's a tough one.  Maybe the X-Zone TE 1 yellow pin.  And since everybody's saying similar layouts for the certain conditions, I'm going to be lazy and not write them down.  Lol, I've played a bunch of different conditions just with the one of them I have.

The only difference between youth and adult leagues are that the big boys are allowed to whine.  They're more entertaining anyway.

I would take the discontinued Ebonite Blue Nitro. One only, sanded to about 1200.
