I'm not very familiar with the science of bowling balls. I pretty much have no clue what differential, RG and other similar terms mean.
Over the summer, I started dropping to 15-pounds and started off my new arsenal with an X-Factor Deuce. The driller put the pin above and between the fingers, CG below and slightly right of my ring finger, the RAD 4 inches right of the thumbhole, and a weight hole to the right of my ring finger. It was supposed to be my new Medium-Heavy ball. It would also wind up being my first skid/flip ball. This ball now has about 112 games on it and it's 9 1/2 months old.
After spending most of the season getting used to it, I started liking its reaction more and more. I bought a Gryphon G-3 about 2 weeks ago so I could have a medium oil ball. This time, I went to a driller who was recommended by friends and was very pleased with how she was interested in what I was wanting it to do. After having it drilled up for skid/flip on medium conditions, I alternated shots between it and the Deuce so I could get used to throwing it and compare the two.
What I found out was they both cover the same number of boards, with the G-3 possibly out-hooking the Deuce. After thinking about it over the last week and a half, along with the fact that I'm not familiar with ball specs, I started wondering three things:
1. Do all skid/flip balls cover the same number of boards before ball setup is factored in?
2. Did Visionary under-rate the G-3 by saying it's best on medium oil?
3. Did the driller of my Deuce completely screw up and set it up much weaker than I wanted?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"...and Deuce went into the temple to pray to the gods for mercy and to continue on its quest. The gods smiled upon Deuce and it emerged from the temple a new creation. From that day, Deuce has proclaimed its power and dominion over the beings of Pin Deck Peninsula, leaving a path of death and destruction in its wake...Deuce now continues its quest for 300 while the residents of 10-pinville mock it at every turn..." 2 X-Factor 1:68-105 (excerpt)
