Fuddy Duddy Leagues
« on: August 29, 2013, 07:43:40 PM »
Anyone else have a bunch of fuddy duddies in control of their league?  My league, which does not even start until Sept. 30 (wtf right?), is still stuck on the 4 point scoring system.  there are no recap sheets at every lane.  You get a slip of paper with your team's averages, and the recap sheet is on the wall in the far end of the house where all the house's leagues are.

So hope to drum up support to change the scoring, get the secretary to use BLS or something, and eventually move the start date to the Monday after Labor Day, not Halloween.

ha, sounds like my Wednesday mixed league. These people actually voted against having a roll off. They are taking the winner of the first half and second half and splitting the combined first and second place money. Their reasoning was they wanted more money in the prize fund and by eliminating the roll offs they would have more prize money......WTF?

First the league officers DO NOT decide the start date of the league. That should be a league vote. A vote is also required for what point system is used. So if those things didn't happen that way, probably means that those "Fuddy Duddies" are the only ones wanting to get involved with league decisions and most of your members don't want to be bothered.

You require that recap sheet be printed for every team, each week? Seems like a waste of paper to me. Maybe you could ask to have an extra recap sheet place up around the leauge to save you that walk to the far end of the house, which I can see being an issue, especially if you trying to get a sub or team members average.

So get involved. Work with your league officers and not against them. Show a little respect for the work they do and refrain from calling them "Fuddy Duddies".
