Quietest 900 ever????
« on: May 01, 2009, 02:59:40 AM »
I was looking a League Secretary.com at one of my leagues, and start to play around looking at the top bowlers all the US. I shot a decent set last week ( we won't talk about this week, lol) so I went back a week to see the high series and I see this:

quote:
1 Tackett, Randy (PA) 900 4/23/2009

Has anyone heard about this, normally there is a big deal made when someone shoots 900. Have we gotten that complacent around a 900 series? Or is this some sort of fun night no-tap thing and League Secretary isn't sophisticated enough to be able to segregate it?

This was discussed on the PBA forum.  It was a 9-pin no tap "fun night."  Someone had said that there were 7 other 300 games that night...whereas the league is a fun-type mixed league with nowhere near the caliber of bowlers to come up with 7+ 300s in a night.

All my 900 series have all been quiet and don't count.  Thanks to Robert M!!! I have 5 that my wife and kids have witnessed.

I dont doubt there might be others in the league that are not 300 type guys but not Randy. I think he has about 50 300's.

Nobody suggest Randy wasn't capable...his posted average is proof enough of that.  However, even if he did shoot 900 that would mean someone else had to shoot the other 4 300s...and that probably wasn't going to be happening.

No disrespect was being paid to Randy.

Yea, Randy is solid---very simple.

He has around 20 or so 300's. Not sure how many 800s---probably more than 5, but maybe not 10---somewhere in there. That league is enjoyable. On the right night there could be 3-4-5-6 guys shoot 300s in there so...

Not trying to start something, just saying.

Hoover can score
Tackett
Weigner has the house record 848.
I stunk in there this year.

A couple other guys shot 300s. Tackett realistically should shoot 900 No tap---all he leaves are singles pins :-)
