Chas,...ball-reviews, for the most part, are uneducated opinions. The term "consider the source" comes to mind when I read these reviews. What works well for me may be a terrible choice for you. I think for the most part,  reviewers have good intent, although most lack the depth that some of us look for, but they have good intentions. When a bowler spends the kind of money that a new ball costs, and goes through the layout and fitting process, most will not admit that they may have made a mistake, or bought a ball that isn't suited for their game. Reviews always seem to come after they have bowled their first few games, on their favorite house shot. I like reviews after a ball has been used for a few months, and on several different conditions. Reviews should be on balls that have been battle-tested, and should reflect if they infact give the results that the bowler was looking for. I'll usually read them all on a ball if I'm looking at that ball for purchase or compare performances. I try to elimate the fluff, and look at the results, and then compare the review to the ability and knowledge of the bowler. Ball reviews serve a purpose, and to the trained eye, can usually provide a good source of information. The trick is seperating the whoop-la from the facts...jim
