Scorchin' or Passion?
« on: April 30, 2006, 01:36:34 PM »
Assuming no cost difference between the two...which would you prefer for heavy oil?

I already have an origional Paradigm and I love it...But it can't handle the really slick stuff.

Also, are people still having problems with the Passion's cracking?

Thanks,
Rich

I'm personally not all that impressed with the scorchin, for me, personally the Lane #1 Super Carbide Bomb is a much stronger ball than the scorchin. As for the Passion I have never thrown it but you're right in saying that the paradigm rocks...

I'm also looking for a strong reactive that hooks in heavier oil patterns. Lately I've been considering either a Passion or a Scorchin' as well.

However, according to a Pro Shop owner, the Scorchin' cover is strong but not very durable. He says the Brunswick balls usually have thin coverstocks so that they die out early upon oil absorption.

I don't know whether the Passion is durable. This is actually the most important concern for me. I suppose the two balls do hook much in oil.

P.S. I hate particle balls. This is why I am only considering these two reactives.

I own both the Scorchin' and the Passion and all I can say is that they are both good balls.  However, if I had to take one over the other, then I would say the Passion.  It rocks just as much as the original Paradim which when the conditions are right

I believe the decision is...do you like symmetrics or assymetrics.

The scorchin is a round shaped moving hook shape in comparison to what one can create in the Passion.

The Scorchin also appears to be a stronger coverstock than the Paradigm.  For me in my area that just makes me aim more away from the pocket in the heads...not what I usuallly want...even on heavy oil.
