Picking bowling balls can be a very complicated issue now days when trying to find the right ball for YOU. There are so many varible that you have look at before you go on to selecting your bowling balls. I've met people who buy nothing but Brunswick and I've met people who buy nothing but Storms. I often at time sit back and wonder okay do these people really get it?  I have 6 bowling balls in my collection 3 Hammers, 1 Columbia, 1 Rotogrip. There are reasons why those are in my collections.  Ford Mustangs and Chevy Camaro are both high performance cars and in a nutshell they are both design to do one thing and that is Race! But they have their differences and specs. There are some things that Camaro can do that the Mustang can't do and vice versa. So, bowling balls haved to be picked using these same principle.  I love my black widow bite which is drilled to go long but only one of the three bowling house that I bowl at really attract the lanes  My PowerSwing has a great affect on one of the other house I bowl at but doesn't do too well at the others. Lane Surfaces and Oil layout play a major role in those situation.  I based my bowling balls based on the coverstock, core, and the hook rating.  The core I believe plays more of an important role than the other three.  It has a lot to do with the way your ball rolls when hitting the pocket. So, I love the gas masked core that hammer has put out in the black widow series. I also love what Columbia has done to their coverstock especally with the Pure Physic. Hammer Infection with the Reative 3 coverstock has been quite a surprise. I prefer the Core design of the Infection over the Pure Physic but I love the coverstock of Pure physic over the Infection...  This is why sometimes balls can be complicated. But talking to your pro shop people and your co bowlers can actually help to resolve the conflict that goes inside of you when trying to decide which balls are right for me.  Remember, all of these company are great but it doesn't mean that every ball that they make is going to be a winner!  Learn to judge the ball not by it cover but by it true colors.
