Sand bagger
« on: November 23, 2009, 01:03:10 AM »
Is there anyway that I can kick a bagger of my team? I've already did my homework, he's a verified bagger. I know now, I wish I had known before I put him on my team. Anyway, is there anyway with in the rules that I can kick him of my team? Thanks

Have the team captain tell him he is no longer welcome.

A team captain has the right to remove someone from the team roster, but if the bowler were to claim that the removal was unjust, the bowler has the right to appeal the captain's decision to the board of directors for a final decision.

USBC rule 115a.  Conduct deragatory to the best interest of the league.

You have to follow the rules exactly.  Hold a meeting, making sure the violator is invited via mail, take roll call and write it down, minutes to the meeting, evidence and vote.

Hurting, because he was selected based on the fact that he is a good bowler. Somebody with a 215-230 average who could help us compete against the good teams. Right now he averages 190 something, when he usually carries a better then 200 plus. He bowled a 473 series last week. The week before he went to a tournament and bowled 770 scratch.

Big Horhn: Can you demonstrate conclusively that he is establishing a low average below his ability to gain unfair advantage? If you can't, there isn't much you can do about it. By the way, is that the only league he bowls in, and if not, is he performing that way in his other leagues?

The lineup is the discretion of the captain.  Unless this guy's the captain, tell him to stay home.  You can let him down easy, say that there's a friend at work who wants to bowl with y'all and you figure that a few weeks off might help him get out of his slump.  If he tells you he's not in a slump but merely sandbagging, then call him on it.  Might not hurt to have the secretary and president overhear your conversation.

I think he bowls in another league. I will check it out. I did over hear him saying that he hated his average being so high and that he had to do something about it. I've thought about asking him if he still wants to bowl with us. He might be looking for a way out to. Thanks again.
