Title: 14 and 15 pounds
Post by: MrNoThumb on August 04, 2003, 08:30:12 AM
I was wondering if there is a big difference between 14 and 15 pound balls, as far as reaction and when they hit? I just bought a new 14 pound Trauma ER from ebay ($60 for a NIB)and was wanting to know if there would be much of a difference.

There is not much of a drop off from 16lbs to 15lbs. However, going from 15lbs to 14lbs you may notice a little more deflection. But even the 14lb equipment out today hits hard, and has a very good reaction. AND the Trauma ER---not a bad choice.

if you have revs, I say there is no difference. I just dropped to 14 and if anything I get more strikes, More revs, better entry angle, and messangers every where.

No one knows I'm throing 14 unless I tell them.

Didn't work for me it definitely magnified any timing issues and especially relase issues. I did use the change to work on those areas though.

I too have noticed little to no difference between 15 and 14. I had a Zone Pro Azure, 14lbs and was able to "hit" it more giving me more pin action and messengers while throwing the same speed. Right now I throw majority 15 with a coule of 16's sprinkled in, but use a 14lb Blue Hammer for spares. Not much of a difference in my book.
