grip question
« on: February 10, 2009, 04:10:39 PM »
i went from oval to lifts about 6 months ago. i love the consistancy of my release but only have one problem, i keep bruising or burning my ring finger. anyone else ever have this issue? would semi lifts help stay clear of the bruising? and do they have a close feel to the reg. lifts?

sounds like your span is a little too long b/c of the lifts or your pitches could be altered b/c of the lifts(fingers don't lay flat anymore, you have to sorta jab the lifts alittle).. unless you shortened your span already to adjust for the lifts, you are just a tad long and it is burning/bruising the pad of your finger tip.. unless it really hurts your fingers it is not a major problem.. if it is bothing you hand or fingers, I would suggest changing your span(shorter or more reverse pitch in the finger) or going back to the ovals for now.. slashrr69

The lifts add 1/8 to 1/4, depending on manufacturer, forward pitch to the pitch of the pilot hole.  Your ring finger joint flexibility probably won't tolerate that increase.  The solution is either to plug the RF and redrill it with extra reverse pitch or change the RF grip back to the oval.  --  JohnP
