All of the advice above is noteworthy and worth looking into. Each person is different. For me rather than dropping down in weight, I chose to go to the gym and work out more. That has made a huge difference in my game overall.
I used to have chronic wrist pain.....so much so, that I had to switch to a wrist brace to alleviate it. I also had occasional forearm aches. By going to the gym and doing a combination of weight training and some added flexibility exercises, I am all good to go right now and I rarely use my wrist brace.
I bowl 5X a week currently and am pain free. I'm 71 years old.
