About 2 years ago, I went back to a 16 pound ball for an entire season more as an experiment than anything else. I had not thrown that weight for 3 or 4 years at the time. My average was about the same with about the same carry. I noticed a few more aches and pains in my forearm after each series, so I went back to 15 pounds. For me, the extra weight was not worth it.
