October 2007 was the best month of bowling for me ever. I bowled 4 leagues st the time and averaged 254 for the month overall. I also shot 2 300s on 10/19, 300 on 10/21, and another 10/26. The 19th was part of an 849 set, all of which were sanctioned. Was forced to quit bowling shortly after, haven't bowled an honor score since.

Drilled a Wild Thing last season and had a great run where over a few months for two leagues and one tournament I average just over 230. Didn't shoot any career high sets or any honor scores, just threw the ball great and carried.

My average at the time was 216.

Be good, or be good at it.

In 2004-2005 winter season, I was riding along about normal. Nothing to write home about, so to speak. Then, somebody said something to me that shouldn't have mattered, but it sort of hurt, and I really wanted to prove him wrong.

 Couple that with the fact that I had just drilled my Original Inferno (which matched my style very well), and you have the beginning of the hottest streak I've ever been on.

 At the halfway point of the league, I was at a 212 average, and his remark was "well, we all have to step aside sooner or later, eh old man". I got lined up with the Inferno, and averaged around 235 for the entire second half of the league, shooting my only sanctioned 800 along the way, to pass him and win high average for the year with a 223.

 I've been on hot streaks before, but never that hot and never that long. Man that was fun.

I laughed so hard when I read Harry's post. So hilarious!

November of 1999. I met my now wife back then and the day after we met, I shot my first 800 ever. Then the following Sunday morning I shot a 300, then the next Sunday morning had another 300/800. Since at the time I was just subbing on Sunday mornings only, it was three consecutive league sets.

What stunk was when we finally got married in 2001, it took clear until 2007 to shoot another honor score. She used to tease me and say that my bowling went downhill after she got that ring on my finger.
