Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a dry lane reactive ball that hits. Sounds stupid and simple, but, whatever. I'm looking for something with length that can either be played up the wood or from inside when they are pretty burnt up. I don't need urethane or plastic, as I already have them. I want reactive in this slot. Here are a few that I am considering:

V2 Dry
Blade Pearl
Vicious Reactive Pearl
Storm Hit
Storm Big Hit Pearl
Storm Barbed Wire

I'm not married to these companies or options. They are just a few of the ones that I've heard good things about. Please feel free to suggest whatever you think would work for this void. All help is appreciated.

My opinion, although biased, would be the Vicious Reactive Pearl, if you can get one. They have been discontinued.

The core of this ball will make it go longer than the Pearl Blade, and it will hit harder.

Ebonite make very good products as well, but the Dry will not "hit" as well as what I think you are looking for.

V2 Dry finishes extremely hard on dry. Alot of three piece balls do too as well. Remember, you need friction and entry angle to get "Hit". On dry lanes you already have all the friction you need. Pikup a V2 Dry before they get gone. A Barbed Wire and Big Hit isn't a bad choice either.

Take the Blade pearl and Vicious Pearl off your list. Way too aggressive to be considered for dry.

A few others: Roto Grip Sonic X, Dynothane Barrage, Brunswick Monster Slay/R, AMF Valor P.

Definitely get the V2 Dry. Seen some very good things from this ball when the backends are fried. A lefty here with alot of hand bowls in a center here with strong backends. He usually plays the 10 board at the arrows, swings to 5, and tends to put up some high numbers (seen numerous 240 games and higher). He has a 18 mph ball speed with about a 45 degree axis rotation. His rpm rate is somewhere in the mid 400s. As far as I know, the ball is also drilled right over the label, too. V2 Dry is your answer.

Hey Gene,
Judging from your profile, I'd say go with the Big Hit, either pearl or solid. We all perceive "Dry" in a different way. What 's dry to one bowler, might be light oil to another. But I would try either one of those balls with a 45 degree layout, which would give you a small arc on the backend. The friction is already there. I'm sure you're looking for control of the pocket area. The V2 Dry is a very good ball, but it's pretty strong too. It's a tuff choice.
