2-8-10
« on: November 17, 2003, 03:34:13 PM »
Got to share this with you guys.
Actually picked this up on Sunday
My coach was there and the manager of my lanes. He said hes never seen it picked up before in the 20 years he been in the game.
I tried for the 2-8 and hit it just off centre to the left, firing the 2 pin in the pit and just touching the edge of the 8. That just slid standing up over into the 10.
I just wanted to go home after that as I knew I couldnt top that.

I've picked it up twice. I threw a hook ball from the right side of lane. The ball hit the 2 like a high Brooklyn hit. The 2 went straight back and hit the 8, bounced off the 8 and the 2 pin then flew right and hit the 10 pin.

2-8-10 ..... nice shot!
i've converted it quite a few times rolling a hard back up
ball up the left channel ......... sending the two pin
into the ten, and the ball takes out the eight pin.

Good shot star,

I have not made this spare, but a few
weeks ago I did spare the 7,9,10.
Shot between the 9&10 and the 9 tripped
the 7.
Just wish my first shot hadn't been
so crappy

the 2-8-10 split, the pba washout. very tough to make. two ways to make it. first, you'll have to convert the 2-8 like normal and hope a pin comes flying over to take out the 10 pin. second, you could shoot at the 2-8 with a back-up ball from the left side of the lane and try to send the 2 over to take out the 10. good luck !

My brother (lefty) made the 3-7-9 a couple different ways.  One was that he hit the 3 HARD on the side... it went toward the 7 and bounced off the side before it took the 7 out... 7 then slides over and hits the 9.  The other way was hit the 3 pin REAL THIN on the left side... it goes to the sideboard while the ball takes out the 9.  The 3 then slides back across the deck and knocks out the 7.

a friend last night left the 1 2 8 10 wash out, threw dead hard and straight, hit the 2 8 dead on, missing the 1 pin, the 2 shot around the back, kicked the 10 forward and it took out the 1 pin for the spare, it was his fill ball so was only worth an extra pin or 2, but still amazing 2 watch

I have made the 2-8-10 3 times in the last 3 weeks, and only once before that in 12 years.

I made it taking the ball weak into the 2 off the left wall into the 8 into the 10 and also by hitting the left of the 2 into the right wall into the 10 into the 8

I have also made the 8-10 twice sliding the 8 over

I have cleared the 2-8-10 twice in practice. The first time by throwing left-handed; the other time by throwing a back-up shot. Never dared to try either approach in league or in tournaments, though.

I have picked up the 2 8 10 twice, 2 off right wall into the 10 and then 8 and 2 into the back right and just came back up and tapped the 10 forward, picked up the 8 10 once bouncing the 10 out and 7 10 bouncing the 10 out, all that at 4 different alleys

i made it one time purely by accident. i threw it hard at the 2-8, barely hitting the 2 pin on the right, sending it to the left wall, where it hit the 8, and the 8 took out the ten. it was real ugly.

its not a hard pick up.. just throw a back up ball into it, I've picked it up a few times.. you just have to know what the ball will do on the other side of the lane

I got this beast once.  I had the first 7 and left it, so I was mad.  Grabbed my ball and threw a back-up ball at it and covered it that way.  My jaw just dropped and that was that.
