what a show
« on: January 09, 2005, 08:22:39 AM »
today in buffalo new york i was bowling in a tourney and right off the bat this kid named mike jackson starts off with a 300 and had the first 23 out of 24. all though he blew the 800 he was still impressed with himself.
then when we were in the step latter finals, the 5th seed; i think his name is rob barbato jr. shot a 300 and his 4 game total(he won the tourney)was 1080 something.
now im thinking wow, is this just a good day for them or was the pattern that easy but when i looked at the other bowlers i realized that most of them were struggling. there was another good thing that came out of this though, i have my highest 4 game set with 880 scratch. but seriously has anyone seen this before from yaba bowlers?

If everyone else was having trouble, then it probably wasn't an easy pattern. More likely is these were very good bowlers who just happened to have a shot the lined up well with their game, and made the adjustments neccessary to keep it up.

for the kid who had 23 out of 24, what was his last game that he missed the 800?

And i agree with what TJ said.

he was throwing his depth charge and ended up with a 195 but came back with 230 or 240 somethin in the four game qualifer. he refused to move and had some spottyness and of course he was thinking about it. but most of the big shots couldnt carry, slide too far or fall. these to kids were either 3rd arrow out to about 8 or 7 board; straight up the 2 or 1 board. people were sayin u cant swing the ball here but i was 20 out to about 10 or 9. though i found that dull or heavy oilers burned up after the first game and half.
any ideas on what kind of pattern this could have been?
