So i'm about 2 months into my conversion to 2 hands. My release is really getting there. I'm getting way more consistent with it, and having way less issues with a bad release. My accuracy is still improving, it's not great yet but i'm mostly there (at most i miss by 2 boards left or right) and only have an occasional bad tug.
But i'm starting to deal with some issues of ball reaction. When playing 1 handed, i've always been speed dominant and needed to find the dry to get a good reaction with my shot. But i'm really starting to think that for two handed, i need to not be near the dry outside at all.
i can play there with After Dark Pearl but i seem to be having carry issues with it. I'm always leaving 9 or 10 pins and the usual adjustments to carry those lead to leaving the other. for instance if i leave a stone 9, my adjustment leads me to wrapping the 10 pin.
But with my other 3 balls (hyroad, turmoil solid and Halo Pearl), my line seems to be cleaner keeping it just inside the dry outside. But the issue is that i'm just inside of it, so a slight miss right catches the dry and comes back way too hard.
And now my confidence is shot, despite dealing with elbow pains bowling 1 handed, i really start 2nd guessing myself if the switch was worth it. Ultimately, i know it is, my health is more important that my bowling score, but these lower scores are beating me up mentally.
So i guess i'm looking for some strategy help from other two handers, or just people that are smarter with this game than me. Am starting to really think i need to get way tighter with my shot. get deeper off the start and limit my break point to maybe 10 or 12.
I do plan on practice it, but some friendly advice of some other things to try would be greatly appreciated
