My teammate inspires the competition!
« on: November 26, 2008, 08:35:15 AM »
Our team anchor shot 751 last night. 243-244-264 and didn't take a point. Scratch league. His opponent shot 268-266-265 for 799. In case you're wondering, it was an 8 count the last shot.

This is about the 6th week in a row his opponents have had near-career nights against him. It's nice to know he inspires the competition!

That happens more than you may think.  There is always going to be people in the league that other bowlers get amped up for.  For me, Joe Firpo bowls in my league on Wednesday night.  So, even when we are not bowling on the same pair, I am always curious as to how is he doing simply because one of my goals is to try and keep up with such a classy, stellar bowler.

mumzie....that is what happens when you bowl with a great bowler.  Others are simply out to get ya.

Sorry for the hijack.  However, Joe is a class act.  Even when he is bowling on the opposite end of the center, he always makes at least one trip to our pair to chat with us.  Even if it is just for a second, he comes down and makes comments to how well we are rolling it or acknowledges the struggles on bad nights.  We can only benefit if there were more Firpos in the world.
