Any Interest in TN for Tournament Series
« on: November 03, 2004, 02:44:53 AM »
I have been contemplating starting a tournament here in TN. It would be called the Southern Masters for adults and Southern Junior Mastes for youth. (they would run side by side) It would feature "fair" conditions... not a true sport compliant condition of 2 to 1 but more of 3/4 to 1 crowned both accross the lane and down the lane. This should provide a scoring environment that rewards bowlers that bowl well but points out the skill deficiencies.

The format would be 6 games of qualifying then cut to top 1/4 of field and bowl 1 game elimination to the end. For those who do not make top 1/4, there would be a second chance sweeper available. I would give away balls for top 6 game qualifier (adult and youth) and other smaller awards for a varity of things.

80 entry for adults and would pay like 1500 for 1st with 64 entries. I am hooking up with some sponsers but before I commit I want to solicte everyone to see what your thoughts are and if you would attend.

What part of the state are we talking about?  I'll be moving to Greensboro soon.  If they drive isn't too bad, I'd do it.

It will be a tour... to include... memphis, nashville, chattagnooga, knoxville rotating each month. If I can get some sponsers or enough patronage I will be happy to make the prize fund $3000 or as much as possible. Additionally since this is a "tour" I am working to develop an complete package for the "bowler of the year"... this package might include 3 balls, 3 ball roller, new shoes and accessories.

I like the idea of having a sweeper the night before. I will post a website for this tournament... and if I can get enough bowlers to comit to attending the sweeper, I will do it.

Any more ideas?

Thanks
