Ok, I hear alotta people talking about I bowl from this board, to that board, around this board, over this board, AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE ANY OF THESE BOARDS ARE! Is there like a site or something where I can go to see like a labeled picture of a lane so I can figure out all the boards?

no but its bery simple. the arrows are on every 5 boards and there are boards in between them. so whichever hand u use count in from the edge which would be 1 board
-
OOOOK so first arrow is 5 board, 2nd is 10, 3rd is 15, so on all the way to the left gutter?

center arrow and center dot on the approach (notice they line up) is 20!
Go to PBA.com, click on the details of the next tournament, then click on where they tell you what oil pattern it will be,.....they will show you a graph of the oil pattern on a lane....and at the foul line you'll see numbers.....20 15L, 15R, ...L/R standing for Left/Right
Sometimes they'll call out a different board though on the patterns....here is pattern B from PBA.com. For this example they call out board 14 which is just OUTSIDE the 3rd arrow on each side....make sense ?

......but you've got it....

The dots on the approach will line up with the arrows on the lanes. In some houses the dots on the approach will go from 5 to 35 to match the arrows, but in other houses it's only 10 to 30 (so there's no dot on the approach for the first and seventh arrows). I know that most wood houses here are of the 10-30 variety, but the new synthetic Brunswick Anvilanes are 5-35. It makes lining up a challenge if you're not quick to pay attention

I bowled the Wild Irish Rose tournament in New York last year and on several lanes in that house the dots on the approach don't match the arrows. I couldn't figure out why I felt "off" those first few frames

AMFs have this ....not ProAnvilanes........at least that is my experience

40 35 30 25 20 15 10 5
So this is how the dots look for a rigty on lanes when the dots match the arrows right? My lanes, the dots match up I believe w/ the arrows.

As stated the dots on the approach, both at the back of the approach and at the foul line will line up with arrows.
The dots on the lanes (about 5 feet out) do not line up with the arrows.
You pretty much have got it.
