If you can't make the UI move, then forget it.

Of course, maybe you haven't read about 40 of the new posts where people whine about their oiler/mega-hooker not moving and it turns out, after a few pointed questions, that the "person" (I'm trying to be polite here) is using on conditions that were FAR too dry for the ball.

Everyone wants maximum hook. In God's name, why? WHat do you think it will do for you?

I knew this was coming.  I can't agree more.  Unless you are 100% positive that the oil pattern is 50 feet then the conditions are too dry for the UI.  I have bowled on some patterns what the UI won't wrinkle on, I can barely get my high load particle to wrinkle.  I would have to say the reactive UI wouldn't get it done.

I have seen a UI in action on a house shot.  When the ball is kept in the oil as long as possible it is unbelieveable.  However, if it gets to the dry too soon, 10 pin city.
