I have to agree.  Particle has taken over the market.  Whether it is a light load or a heavy load; a pearl or a solid, particle is taking over in all different forms.  Think about it.  When resin came along, urethane faded out.  Now that companies are coming out with new and improved forms of particle, resin is starting to fade just a little bit so far.  I believe that particle is hurting the sport more than it is helping it.  First of all, bowling centers are only going to lay down so much oil on the lanes.  Particles are known to soak up the oil more than resins.  The only way the new "hook monsters" are going to amount to anything, is for the centers to lay down more oil.  Bowling centers will only do so much because it isn't "cost effective" for a center to keep up with the technology.  Secondly, have we not reached to end of the spectrum when it comes to hook potential?  Manufacturers are coming out with new balls so fast, that a ball can't really make a lengthy impact on the sport outside of maybe the V2 sanded.  Some will release 2, 3, or more balls at the same time.  Do not understand it.  Maybe someone out there can shed more light on the subject.  But, I see particle doing to resin what resin did to urethane.
