2024-25 Staff Changes and Product Registration Changes
« on: November 21, 2024, 08:38:34 PM »
2024-25 is off to an interesting start as Track, Jeff Richgels from the 11thframe.com reported that Columbia 300 and Radical have decided to no longer be PBA registered brands.  This is interesting as Brunswick had purchased the EBI brands back in 2019 to prevent them from being eliminated with EBI going out of business.

Only Brunswick, Hammer, DV8 and Ebonite will remain registered.  That being said, there will be many changes to staff at the start of this season.

In addition to that major change, Andrew Anderson has recently left Motiv as he mentioned on his YouTube channel.  Where he lands remains to be seen.  Until then, he is a free agent.

Balls can still be used, no logos on shirts.  Has to do with the new format for the league teams.

Yep. Just no shirt logos for Columbia, Radical, and Track. I would have expected to see Track over DV8, but I'd guess the Russo & Ogle combo is the reasoning.

Curious to see what changes take place this year.
Personally, I just switched from SPI to Brunswick in our shop and I'm loving it

AA to SPI

I haven't heard of any other really "big" names moving, but there's some more shuffling coming. Someone that won a major in the last couple years is also going to SPI, don't want to spoil something that isn't out there yet, though i'm sure people know if I do.

"EQUIPMENT
During the regular season, players will be able to use any product-registered bowling ball available to them. For example, Roto Grip players can throw Storm and 900 Global equipment; Hammer players can throw Brunswick, Ebonite, Track, DV8, Radical and Columbia 300 equipment.

In the PBA Elite League: Battle of the Brands Championship, however, players will be limited to their single brand’s equipment. To continue the previous example, Roto Grip players will only be able to throw Roto Grip equipment in the finals — not Storm or 900 Global.

Furthermore, since not all brands produce a urethane bowling ball, no player may use urethane equipment during finals matches. The tournament director may grant an exception for equipment used exclusively for spares."
