30 Clean!!!

I manage to fill every frame tonight.  248-247-258.  I've done it a couple times in tournaments, but I can't remember ever being clean for an entire nite in league.  Especially this year, my spare shooting has gotten better, so I've done 28 or 29 out of 30 clean several times, but never 30.  I only had a couple bad shots all nite, and unfortunately they cost me a nice little chunk of change...but I'm still excited to have had a clean set!

That's great! Keep it up, with scores like that, it wasn't all about spare shooting.

So, I guess you're 100% on your single pin spares and never leave a pocket 7-10, or go a pinch high and leave a 4-9, or miss you're release a bit and leave a 2-10 combo, or fail to cover a 3-6-9-10?  Clean sets don't happen near as often as you'd think.  Nice shooting Dan.

I decided this season I would keep track of how many clean 30s I bowled. It's been a lot more rare than I anticipated. I have 28 or 29 clean about 90% of the time, but there's always that one shot that goes through the face and leaves me with a split somewhere in the night...

Clean sets are very hard to come by for me. I usually manage to leave myself some splits, or I get careless on a spare somewhere...

Seriously though, good shooting.  I almost did it in Corpus Christi at Nationals a few years ago.  Picked the 3 off of the 3-6-10 in the 8th of game 3 .  Filled the 9th and tenth after, so I wound up 29 of 30. The real pisser is I converted the 4-9 to keep it alive in game 1.  To miss on what should have been a gimme still irks me.

30 Clean, even on a house shot is not that easy.  Not only do you have to keep the ball in the pocket to eliminate the splits and washouts, you have to make the spares.  Congrats to anyone who does it.  We have a 30 Clean Jackpot in our league every week.  $1.00 to enter and anyone who gets 30 clean takes the pot.  If no one gets 30 clean that week, it rolls over to the next week.  In years past, the pot would be hit 3-4 times.  This year, the center has a much tougher shot (everyone in the center is down 20 or more pins in average) and no one has come close to hitting the jackpot yet.  It is now over $300.  It will more than likely go to the last week, the end of league sweeper.  The rules are that whomever is the last one to open gets the pot.  Someone will be happy on that night.  I would think that the concentration level might be just a little higher than normal

Congrats my friend!!!

  I am also lucky enough to say that i have gone 30 clean on back to back nights. I shot 705 and 683 clean and only left one split (2,8,7 and a made it). And to be amazed, I also shot 685 with 2 opens. So that makes 2 opens in three sets. And i havent been close to leaving a 7-10 or big 4 or 4-9.
