300 at Willow Creek that was a priveledge to watch
« on: April 11, 2010, 11:52:31 PM »
Have had a couple of awesome privileges the past month.  Although I bowled like a toe at Nationals, I got to watch my good friend Brian Nicodemus throw only the fourth 300 of the tournament in his team event Sunday afternoon the 21st.  Then yesterday I went up to Green Bay to watch my wife and her womens team bowl the Willow Creek Classic.  Some of the Linds Limited team out of Milwaukee where next to them and I had another privilege of watching Ryan Lever through 300 his last game.  Trip 4 in the 8th, but pretty pure with the rest of them.  It''''s been a treat to watch a couple very strong bowlers throw 3''''s on a pretty tough shots so close together time frame wise as well as experiencing the electricity that comes with it.

Very nice bowling by both of them.  Ryan Lever is a major talent.  300 game $1,280.00 very nice guys!

What lines were they playing and on the fresh or 2nd shift?

Ryan Lever is one of the greatest bowlers you'll never see or hear about.  He's got some serious game.

ICE, was he playing around fifth arrow or did he split boards up seven for the last game?

Actually he struggled earlier in the set.  Both he and Gary looked to be playing 15 or so out to 8,9 at the break point and "fitting" it with speed.
As the day went on they could bet more firm and had some hold it looked.  Gary was either flush in the hole or high but Ryan was just there the entire game.  It was first shift.  Chad Mass, Jeff Nimke and PJ Giesfeldt where next pair over and Nimmer had a great look, but Chad and PJ seemed to have a lot of over under.  Miss in and watch it run and miss out and watch it slide.

And I do agree, Ryan seemed to be one of the nicer guys I''ve watched on lanes.  So even mannered even with the early stuggles.  EVERY person in the house was rooting for him.

Shooting a 300 at Willow Creek is huge!  That's tough and I know damn well I'd be thinking about that instant jackpot.  Congrats to him.
