300 eludes me

I am a truck driver who bowls when I can.  I got to sub twice this week once in Mt. Vernon WA and once in my home center in Moreno Valley CA.  I just cant seem to shoot 300 to save my life.  To sum it up I just get nervous or ring something.  Last night I go 220 212 then 279 and 258.  279 first 5 10pin sheet.  258 front 7 get fast leave 4-7 strike in the 9th then 10pin.  I have been bowling for a long time but I don't bowl any leagues right now because of my job.  I just want to shoot a 300 and 800 so bad but I guess that comes with bowling more.

It took me 20ish years to get my first 300.  Patience, friend.  It will come.

I'm with Scolai. I bowled for 16 years before my first 300. It took 10 more to get the second. Never had a 800 yet. I understand completed. Your description sounds like YABA career: always so close...

took me the better part of 18 years and i finally shot not one but two within 4 months of each other.  they will come, sometimes the earth has to tilt right and the sun set at a certain time, and the planets align, but it will happen

Thanks for the support guys.  I will just keep practicing when I can and hope I get more chances to sub and I will get one hopefully sooner then later.
