300 Rings
« on: March 20, 2004, 05:09:57 PM »
How many 300 rings are you allowed?

1 per season?
1 of the free one, then 1 of the gold one?
Unlimited?

Im asking this for yaba leagues, but i could not find any info on this.(its probably the same rule has abc since most of them are)

I heard that you were allowed only one 300 ring of free one and the gold one.

The gold one is NEVER free. It cost about $450 depending on size and ABC will let you pass getting the free saladium ring and give you a whopping $75 credit towards the purchase of a gold one. You are allowed 1 ABC award per season for each award score and thats it. So if you bowl 2 -300's and 3 299's, you will get 1 300 ring and 1 299 ring and thats it..

I know this is the ABC rule, not sure of the YABA rules..

Hi jkiser,

Where does the $75 credit come into play?  I have a gold form sitting in my drawer for a gold now and all I see is the price of $429 for 10K, $544 for 14K on the Classic version.  It does say ABC offers $40 for claiming their first award of the season but I still don't see the $75, am I missing something?  Thanks for your help.

rick,

they might have changed. I could have swore that last year when I shot my 300, they offered me a $75 credit towards the gold ring if I want to buy that, I gues now its only $40 credit..

Yaba only lets you have one ring per career.  So if you're any good in youth, you'd better decide which ring you want to get, cause you only get one per honor score, and only one for each score the first time.

You fill out the paper work regardless of how many you shoot. This way they can keep track of your award scores. In one 30 day period I shot 2-300's and a 299.Then another 300 later in the year and still filled out the paper work each time.

You guys should think yourself lucky here in the UK in order to bowl in so called sanctioned leagues and tournaments you have to pay an anual fee.

In my league ( Over 150 members ) we never get the lanes dressed and in competitions the conditions are always different and sometimes are put down to tailor certain bowlers.... However the thing is I pay my dues and I finally bowl a 300 after loads of 289's I had to constantly chase up the BTBA ( British Tenpin bowling association )and after months of waiting I finally get my cirtificate accompanied with..... ( Drum roll please ).............

AN ENAMEL PIN BADGE!!!! WOO-HOO

So you lot should think yourselves lucky at least the ABC and WIBC care about you lot over the pond.....
I would have got away with it if it was not for those pesky kids (Behind my lane) and those blasted 10 pins.

There is a 75.00 credit for the saladium ring. I have shot a few 300 and havent recieved the rings yet because I am trying to build up enough credit to recieve a gold ring free with the number 300 on it and the number of 300 i have shot below it .http://www.bowl.com/bin/pdf/abc_awardapp_highscore.pdf

On the left hand side where the 300 rings are listed the first one in red it says upgrade to eagle, classic, or mulitple top available. The multiple top says 300 then the number of three hundreds shot below it in a smaller number.

You can still only apply the cost of one ring per season.  Also they dont offer this in 800 series as of yet. They only offer it for 300 games and the cost of the 14k gold multi top is 5-6 hundred depending on size with a 175 dollar down payment you can finance the rest and make payments on it.

When you send the form into abc tell them you want to upgrade to the multi top or what ever by selecting what ring you want. If you dont have this option on the form @ hand then you might have one of the old forms. I would check and see what form you have the new ones have the 300 multitop on it. When you send the form in to abc they will send you a letter back stating your approval and tell you that you will be contacted via mail in a few days from the actual manufacture of the rings. They will give you the pricing and sizeing options and payment options then. It is on this form or notice from said manufacture that they tell you about the 75.00 credit. I would call ABC if you had any more questions. I also heard you can send back any ring you already have and they will give you a credit for it. I havent comfirmed this though. I hope this is of help.
