50 year old equipment vs modern equipment!
« on: August 17, 2009, 01:45:36 AM »
Very interesting little article in September 2009 Golf Magazine."I can break par with 50-year-old clubs..."
No Problem! They  wanted to  see how today's Tour pro would play with clubs from 50 years ago.
So they got Padraig Harrington to test his modern Wilson clubs vs Wilson clubs from 1959.They had
him use his driver,a 6-iron ,and 9-iron,Harrington went on to state that the clubs felt fine only differnece
was a smaller sweet spot, which would bother him on a bad wet day.And if he had to play with the older
style clubs,he could adapt, and could play competitively against my fellow Tour pros with the old style
clubs and break par.But not  compete if they used modern clubs.
I was just thinking about modern equipment in bowling vs older equipment. How would a PBA tour
member do against another, with one  bowler using 50 year old equipment and the other using modern
equipment.Could the one using 50 year equipment  break par on a consistent basis on sport patterns.
And I'm not talking about another plastic ball Cheetah shot.I'm not sure what do you think.
